March
28th - International Women in Music Day was declared as part of the Uniting The Nations Weekend in
Birmngham- England - March 2008. Launched from the '100 Years of Female Recognition' program, the day became a celebration
of support for women and the work of progressive development. A day of celebration,
International Women in Music DAY is a time when all females involved and working in the music industry can come together and
be counted for their years of hard work and determination. From receptionist to roadie, it is a day when all females
can can put aside their indifferences and join together regardless of genre, color, creed or religious belief and be recognised
for their worth in the industry.

Supported by an awareness campaign, the WIM symbol
of the maroon ribbon is used to bring together the millions of woman around the globe working toward progressive development.
By supporting the campaign, you can help others less able than yourself, to achieve their goals and open their opportunities
for occupational roles in the industry. By sending this message of hope, you can help pave the way for the millions
of females that will follow.
IWM Day welcomes all females with a love for music and their organisations to join in the festivities of 2009 and
keep Women in Music DAY alive, not just for us, but for generations to come.
